Stella*submissive and fun* the Dog needs a home

Our first step is an application which can be filled out atwww.cvrrescue.org

Stella ... So full of life. She was so shy when she came to us. Afraid to even think about giving kisses, getting too close, or coming inside. Now she will exfoliate a layer of skin with her slobbery kisses, push her way past you in her exuberance to be near you and with you, and joyously follow you from room to room. She appears to have been an outside dog in her previous life as she had no shame in peeing on the floor right next to you but those days are gone. She loves praise, and loves the kids in the household. She loves our fenced in backyard and while we are gone, we leave her outside. No issues at all with digging, and she hardly ever barks.  At night when we bring her in, she can be a bit pushy trying to get ALL of everyone's love but never to the point of aggression with us or our other dog. Not food aggressive either, but seriously loves herself some dog chow. A bit of a Lynchburg foodie, you might say. ;) as she has settled into her foster home, we have noticed that certain men make her feel uncomfortable.  We think she just hasn’t had a lot of exposure and socialization with strange men so retreating with a grumble seems to be her “safe response”  that being said, with a little patience and time she has had made friends with plenty of the men in our organization and visitors to the home.  Overall we just love her

A note from Stella foster mom:

STELLA is a sweet and super submissive post-puppy gal. Even when accosted by our resident mini Schnauzer who was acting like an ornery bully to her, Stella (3 times her size) would just avert her eyes and walk away with head lowered. Not sure what this sweet girl has been through in her life, but it sure hasn't ruined her inner beauty. Stella acts truly thankful for every meal and every loving pat on the head.

Stella came into our care from a shelter.   We don't know any background as she was a stray although she apparently had puppies because she still had milk when she came into the shelter.  She is adjusting to life in a foster home very well.  She was amazing on her 1st day of being introduced to the resident dogs, cats, and toddler.   She seems to have a special liking for kids-maybe ready to be a nanny after having been a mama - haha!! Stella is a real sweetheart!

This dogs adoption fee is
$175
which covers the following: spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, dhp/p, rabies, bordatella (agre appropriate vaccines), deworming, and all the care he received while with CVRR.  All animals are on flea and tick and parasite prevention for the duration in fostercare. We are an volunteer group, who process the applications so please be patient and  understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions.   You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone and email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process .    We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible. When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the dog  picks you too.  If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee and an adoption contract to be signed.  The adoption fees help cover a portion of the care provided to the animals. All dogs and cats are microchipped and all animals adopted out are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. **All of our animals have a lifetime commitment. If for any reason, the adoption does not work out, the cats and dogs are to come back to CVRR, which is a NO kill rescue.*** The foster family and the rescue volunteers will choose the new home based on the best fit for the dog/cat.
